How the work is done
Parallel co-located sampling, with one filter medium optimised for chemistry and another for DNA recovery, so biology and chemistry describe the same air. DNA extraction and quantitative PCR. Metagenomic sequencing with resistance gene annotation. Analysis of whether resistance genes and metal resistance genes sit together on mobile genetic elements, which distinguishes genuine co-selection from mere correlation.
