Atmospheric chemistry over Bangladesh is not a national question — air arriving over the Bay of Bengal has crossed several countries first. Most of the laboratory’s work is done with other institutions.
Who funds the current work
From the laboratory’s own project records. The projects page says what each one covers.
- Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research — greenhouse gas mitigation from open waste burning, across Nepal and Bangladesh
- University Grants Commission of Bangladesh — layered double hydroxides for chromium(VI) and nitrogen dioxide removal
- Bangladesh Climate Change Trust, Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change — composite materials for removing environmental pollutants
- Bose Centre for Advanced Study and Research in Natural Sciences, University of Dhaka — optical characteristics and oxidative potential of fine particulate matter
Who the laboratory publishes with
Researchers appearing on several of the laboratory’s papers, each with the institution they name on their own public ORCID record. This is read from the publication list rather than from anybody’s memory, so it shows collaboration that actually produced work.

These are co-authors, not formal institutional partnerships. Appearing together on a paper shows work was done together; it does not by itself mean an agreement exists between the institutions. Prof. Salam’s public CV also names partnerships with NASA, Stockholm University, Academia Sinica, Duke University, the University of Wisconsin, the Clean Air Fund, Dalhousie University and Washington University — those are not listed above because they have not yet been confirmed against the laboratory’s own records.
